Refined “Einblicke” – the agency Atelier & Friends wins the German Design Award 2026 with our company book.


A book with a wooden cover into which the letters of a word have been carved. When the book is opened, the cover casts its shadow onto the opposite page. There, as if written in light, the title appears: “Einblicke” (“Insights”) is the name of the book we commissioned to mark our 70th anniversary.
The 172-page volume, which also symbolizes the generational transition within the family business, is now causing quite a stir: the design and communications agency Atelier & Friends, commissioned with the project, has been honored with the German Design Award 2026. At the award ceremony on February 6 in Frankfurt am Main, the agency received the title “Winner” in the “Books and Calendars” category within the Communication discipline.

“An impressive fusion of corporate history and forward-looking vision,” praised the jury, noting that “the design clarity underscores the values of the family business and relies on aesthetic, harmonious imagery. Particularly compelling is the concise execution as a strategically conceived statement that creates identity (…).”

The German Design Award is internationally regarded as one of the most prestigious distinctions in design. It is presented annually by the German Design Council in the categories of Architecture, Communication Design, and Product Design. These three categories are further divided into various disciplines.
This year, the award places particular emphasis on projects that address current transformations in society, sustainability, and new technologies—highlighting the role design can play beyond pure aesthetics.
